The top end.
Other than a brief lap of Darwin during a stopover on the way to Bali once, the Northern Territory was my least-explored state in Aus up until this trip. I was booked in to rent a room in Bondi for a few weeks to explore some future work opportunities when I got a call from Director/Friend Darius Devas asking if I wanted to jump on a 10 day shoot in Arnhem land for an upcoming doco he was working on. Filming in that part of the world (and having the permits and local blessings to do so) is a pretty special opportunity - so just like that I was now bound for Darwin instead of Sydney - on DP duties for an early stages documentary on mental health - shooting in the indigenous community of Maningrida (another post with some frames and behind the scenes shots from that shoot some other time). Seeing I was up there anyway and my schedule was cleared - I got Darius to book my flight home for a week later than the rest of the crew, to give me a chance to properly check out the area and get to some national parks that had always been on my list. Below is a collection of motion and stills from that week.
